Title from fol. 1a. It appears in the preamble of the text as Bidāyat al-mubtadiʼ (fol. 1b).
Physical description: 17 lines per page. Written in casual medium large naskh in black ink, with larger script for headings. Thick light biscuit (some leaves peach) paper with thick laid lines and some chain lines visible. Fol. 1 is apparently a later addition. Marginal and interlinear annotations. Title on the tail of text block (hardly legible).
Origin: Copy completed on 15 Shaʻbān 831(?) [May 1428] in Aleppo in the Madrasat al-... by Aḥmad ibn ʻAbd al-Muʼmin ibn Muḥammad ibn Abī Ṭālib ibn ʻAlī ibn Hāshim al-Ḥanafī (colophon, fol. 152b).
Incipit: كتاب البداية ... ابى حنيفى رحمه الله لا اله الا الله عدة للقائه الحمد لله الذى هدانا الى بالغ حكمه والص[لوة] على رسوله ... قال العبد الضعيف على ابن ابى بكر بن عبد الجليل المرغيانى وفقنا الله لما فى الذكر الجميل والدخر الجزيل كان يخطار ببالى ... [2أ] كتاب [الطهارة] قال الله عز وجل يا ايها الذين امنوا قمتم الى الصلاخ الاية ففرض [---] غسل الاعضا الثلثة
