Summary note
Providing an overview of rammed earth, which is a method of earthen construction by compacting a damp soil mixture into a removable formwork with pneumatic or manual tampers, this thesis project investigated the durability of rammed earth construction in simultaneity with its temporality while evaluating its benefits and applicability in the context of Princeton, NJ, and of temporary structures. It explores the durability of unstabilized rammed earth in Princeton, NJ by using local soil, and the influence of different stabilizer additions on erosion.
