Summary note:
This thesis explores the conversion of kinetic energy to electrical energy using piezoelectric transducers. I build a fully functional prototype that integrates kinetic energy harvesting circuitry with storage components. In addition, I develop a software tool that visualizes how much energy is being harvested when the device is in use, so the user has real time knowledge of how much energy is being generated. Finally, the device and software visualization tool were installed on stage and used for demonstration in a live dance performance.
