    Summary note
Art historian Christine Férot explains some of the vital and aesthetic course of Saúl Kaminer, one of the best-kept secrets of contemporary Mexican art. The artist began as a painter and after exploring sculpture, he has maintained a recurrent and intense dialogue between both techniques. The result is a parallel, but also perpendicular route between mass and surface: sometimes his paintings look like diagrams or schematics of the sculptures. While his paintings are almost always white backgrounds with lines of colors, his sculptors are white or black, depending on the chosen mineral.
