• En la primera parte del libro se presenta una visión de cómo era el valle de Chicama en tiempos prehispánicos, para luego abordar el tema de los orígenes de Paiján seguido de un análisis crítico de diversas afirmaciones. La segunda parte conforma la transcripción de documentos relacionados con Paiján y el Valle de Chicama correspondientes a los años 1565, 1566, 1578, 1763, 1908, 1992 y 1996.
• In the first part of the book a vision of what the valley of Chicama was like in pre-Hispanic times is presented, followed by a discussion of the origins of Paiján and a critical analysis of various statements. The second part contains the transcription of documents related to Paijan and the Chicama Valley corresponding to the years 1565, 1566, 1578, 1763, 1908, 1992 and 1996.
