Summary note
The exhibition "OOCO" (The Hollow), is the first retrospective of this Rio-based artist. This exhibition presents an overview of the artist's works made between 1987 and 2014, including drawings, sculptures, installations, photographs and videos specially produced for the exhibition. Among the highlights are "Eu Vi a América com os Olhos D'Ele (I Saw America with His Eyes)," a sculpture begun in 2001 and presented here for the first time. Nelson Felix was born in Rio de Janeiro in 1954. He studied with Ivan Serpa in early 1970 and graduated in architecture in 1977. His artistic career began in the 80s, with designs made from graphite and diamond. His work deals with a broad concept and sculpture, in which he examines the relationship between art, culture and nature. These environmental issues works will be presented at the show through documentary videos created from photographs taken by the artist.
