The earliest extant Latin text of the Gospels in Great Britain, excepting Ireland; variously known as the Book of St. Chad, St. Chad's Gospels, and St. Teilo's Gospels.
The ms., now in Lichfield cathedral, whose patron saint is Chad, but belonging originally to Llandaff cathedral, whose patron saint is Teilo, is a fragment and includes only Matthew, Mark, and Luke to iii 8. Luke is completed in this edition from the ms. at Hereford cathedral.
