Les intermittents du spectacle, population hétérogène revendicatrice d'une parole d'exposition de soi et de dénonciation sociale, symbolisent les maux d'une société visant l'uniformisation tout en dérivant vers le traitement inégalitaire de ses citoyens. Une population sans laquelle le Festival off d'Avignon ne serait pas ce qu'il est. Une redéfinition de la place des intermittents du spectacle dans la société et l'économie s'impose.
