    Summary note
Describes French Jewish reactions to the wave of antisemitism washing over France since the outbreak of the second intifada in 2000. Thousands have left France for Israel, the U.S., or Canada, while those staying feel threatened in their existence by recurring antisemitic attacks, mostly perpetrated by Muslim immigrants. Criticizes the government and media for their slow reaction to the return of antisemitism and accuses the media for fueling anti-Jewish sentiments, kindled by the Muslims, with biased reporting on the Middle East. Views antisemitism as a cancer that threatens to spread, in the form of racism and discrimination, to all layers of French society. Urges the Jews to face a new, insecure reality and join the fight against antisemitism as part of a more comprehensive battle against all racism. (From the Bibliography of the Vidal Sassoon International Center for the Study of Antisemitism).
