First published in 1933. Short stories. Ramón Marrero Aristy (1913-1959) was a Dominican author, journalist, politician and historian. He is renowned as a writer of realist novels, especially those set around sugar-cane production, which highlight the abuse of sugar industry workers. He published his first book Balsié in 1938 followed by his most well-known work, Over (1939), considered a classic of Dominican literature.
