"Chan-gil is the son of an old traditional potter living in a small Korean village. He leaves the village for Seoul to study and there re-meets and falls in love with Poon-ryeh, a young woman from his village. She has become a gei놈 and is inviled with a group of gangsters(Yakuza). To get enough money to buy her freedom he begins to rob graves of their treasures and sell them to Takeyama, an unscrupulous dealer.
