Summary note
A collection of sixteen popular children's songs with lyrics and simplified staff music for playing on a small xylophone; the music score also has simple 1-8 numbering, with numbers corresponding to those on the 8 xylophone bars.
Notes
Title and author from cover title; publisher from lower cover; copyright ink-stamped at foot of second page.
"Illustrations by Corinne Malvern" --At foot of first page.
Milton Bradley's logo on both covers (MB bought out McLoughlin Brothers and their lines of publications and games).
"Patent applied for" printed on both covers; patent for spiral binding also noted on lower cover.
Illustrations: Full page illustrations signed by Malvern facing the music scores, some in red and black and some in full color, with small black-and-white illustrations at the head of most songs.
A mini-xylophone is attached to the inside lower cover, and all pages have a cut-out section, making the xylophone accessible from all pages; also included is a playing small mallet.
Binding note
Publisher's pictorial, chromolithographed paper-covered boards, both upper and lower featuring a depiction of happy children on a merry-go-round.
