Princeton copy 1 Heavily annotated in pencil in both volumes by Violet Paget (1856-1935), who wrote under the nom de plume "Vernon Lee"; and with a note by Benedict Nicolson confirming he received this copy from Lee's friend and executrix Cooper Willis: "This book was presented to me by Cooper Willis, who had it from the library of Vernon Lee, who is responsible for all the pencil annotation. BN 1946." Has 19th century ownership signature in vol. 2.
