"Soo-bin lives with her mother when her father leaves after going bankrupt. She develops a crush on her art teacher Mr. Yoo and takes an avid interest in drawing. Mr. Yoo is, however, going out with Ms. Han, the Korean Literature teacher. Jin-ae, Soo-bin's friend, lives in the city away from her family. She engages in paid dating with older men to ease her loneliness. But things are never easy for these two friends. Soo-bin is heartbroken when Mr. Yoo does not reciprocate her feelings and Jin-ae finds her loneliness unbearable. Jin-ae inevitably goes off the deep end and kills her date and kills herself.
