Summary note
"At Yong-ma Island, there is a dim-witted child named Byul-nyeo around the age of seven or eight. Byul-nyeo's parents take in Kuh-mu, the son of a poor household, to become their son-in-law. Ten years later, Byul-nyeo has grown into a pretty young lady. When Eok-su, a boy from the mainland, starts to show interest in Byul-nyeo, her parents quickly marry her to Kuh-mu. Byul-nyeo and Kuh-mu live happily until Eok-su shows up. Eok-su has designs on Byul-nyeo so he turns Kuh-mu in to the police for killing a Japanese detective who had been tormenting the villagers. Byul-nyeo goes to the mainland and works from bar to bar. When she hears that Kuh-mu is dead, she seduces Eok-su and kills him for destroying her life. Afterwards, Byul-nyeo follows her husband to death by walking into the ocean."--Korean Movie Database (KMDb).
