Summary note
Includes 14 volumes and letters of manuscript sheet music, lyrics, and songs. All material appears American except for the French manuscript Recueil d'airs choisis & nouveaux (1830). Years of production vary: the earliest manuscript is the singing book of Sarah Ross (1712), the latest manuscript was compiled by a first grade student, Tyyni Walo-Gayer in 1941. Other highlights include the Pennsylvania Dutch hymn book of Johannes Hanbect (1813) and Ane buik off roundells (1800's), a manuscript copy of an earlier 1612 manuscript book of 100 roundels and poems including "ding dong bell" by David Melvill.
