• A typical example of a "numeration" manuscript featuring student math lessons and penmanship practice. Unusually, however, this particular manuscript belongs to a young lady.
• The last few leaves seem to have been usurped by Elizabeth's brothers Joseph and William for less educational work. These leaves include bawdy poems and caustic remarks towards Elizabeth.
