Notes
A typical example of a "numeration" manuscript featuring student math lessons and penmanship practice. Unusually, however, this particular manuscript belongs to a young lady.
The last few leaves seem to have been usurped by Elizabeth's brothers Joseph and William for less educational work. These leaves include bawdy poems and caustic remarks towards Elizabeth.
Binding note
Original vellum bound boards.
