Summary note
Novel. José Acosta (1964) has won several literary prizes including Premio Nacional de Novela (2005 for Perdidos en Bablionia , the Premio Nacional de Cuento (2005) for Los Derrotados huyen a París and Premio Nacional de Poesía Salomé Ureña (1993) for Territorios extraños. He has also obtained awards outside the Dominican Republic including the Premio Internacional de Poesía Odón Betanzos Palacios de Nueva York (1997) for Destrucciones, the Premio Internacional de Poesía Nicolás Guillén in Mexico for El evangelio según la muerte in 2003 and the Premio Casa de Las Américas in Cuba in 2015 for his novel Un kilómetro de mar.
