Summary note

A kamishibai story about the boyhood of Gunpei Yamamuro (1872-1940), who was the first General of Japanese Salvation Army. Based on his autobiography and edited by his daughter.

• The back of picture no. 11 advertises a dozen Christian kamishibai titles.
• In publisher's light brown paper envelope (29 x 38 cm).
• Stamped on envelope: "Remember thy Creator in the days of thy youth--Eccl. 12:1" and the same verse in Japanese translation.
• Former owner J.K. Notehelfer's address in California stamped on envelope.
• Stamped on envelope: "紙芝居 Christian Kamishibai (Paper Play)."
• Address of Seizandoh Book Store (聖山堂) stamped on envelope and is the same as both publisher and distributor's address on back of picture no. 12.
