Original artwork of a kamishibai story based on Acts 10-12 in the New Testament of the Bible.
Notes
Title in translation: Peter the Disciple.
Cover is a pastel drawing and the rest of 20 pictures in water colors.
On back of picture no. 1: "Acts 10, Peter;" on back of picture no. 6: "Acts 12"
Numbering of sequence on the back of each card, except cover.
On brown paper envelope: Peter.
Half-torn brown paper envelope is a reused mailing package originally sent from Emilie Nothhelfer in "West Germany" to "Rev. J. Karl Nothhelfer, 1934-1 Chome, Tamagawa Todoroki, Setagaya-ku, Tokyo, Japan" in the 1950s, according to addresses inside.
Commissioned by Reverend J. Karl Notehelfer (1899-1983), a German missionary who was in Japan since the 1920s. Used in Japanese Sunday Schools or with children's audiences.
