Illustrations: Title page vignette and 8 illustrative vignettes, one at the top of each page of 3 letters (capitals and lower-cased) of people or objects: e.g. dunce for "D," guard for "G," and Napoleon for "N."
Cotsen copy: Inscribed on inside front wrapper: "Jeremiah Thompson, J Stonington [illegible], 29th 1844; presented by Catherine Thompson [illegible]," and on inside rear wrapper: "Jeremiah."
Binding note
Publisher's yellow printed wrappers, pictorial upper with vignette of a boy flying a kite (repeating p, 4 ill.) , and lower with King's publisher's advertisement: "Books, at one cent each," both set within typographical-device border.
