Originally grouped with 30 other Mexican textbooks in minority languages. The materials were developed in connection with a program for universal literacy, especially among speakers of Indian languages and dialects. One of the volumes is an instructional guide for teachers addressing problems of teaching the analphabetic and monolingual. The languages addressed are Mejicano (dialect of Veracruz), Amuzgo, Mazateco (2), Chol (5), Otomi, Pabloe, Chontal, Popoloca (6), Mazahua, Huichol (2), Cora, Tepehua, Zapoteco, Tzeltal (2), Tojolabal (4), Yaqui, Chichimeca, and Purepecha.
