Wargrave. Wargrave is a town in Berkshire county, southeast England. Given the manuscripts content, it can be assumed that G.W.R. refers to the now defunct Great Western Railway (founded 1833, nationalised at the end of 1947, becoming part of the Western Region of British Railways). G.W.R. opened a railway station in Wargrave in 1900, it was demolished in 1988.
