Manuscript of Ottoman melodic modes (Maqāms) with Byzantine notation written in red and black ink. Contains demotic (folk) songs written in karamanlēdeios writing set to music by Grēgorios Prōtopsaltēs according to Byzantine musical notation. Inscription on folio [4r] refers to the compiler and composer of the manuscript: "To akolouthōs synetethē para / tou eugenestatou archontos postel/nikou kyriou Geōrgiou soutzou kei/menon de kai melos etonisthē / para Grēgoriou prōtopsaltou tēs / megalēs ekklēsias kata tēn / paradōsin tou idiou. makam besteninkiar ousoul / chaphēph legetai de kiarika / ta tous exōterikous mousikous."
