Notes
Title from first lines on a2r.
Attributed to Samuel Marochitanus. Cf. ISTC.
Imprint of publication suggested by ISTC.
The heading of the Epistola proper describes it on a3v as "tradocta darabico inlatino & dilatino inlingua toscana da Bastiano saluino ... adi / xxv / dinouembre / mille quattrocento settanta noue".
Alphonsus Boni Hominis claims only to translate the Epistola of Rabbi Samuel but 'it seems he himself was the author, drawing largely from another tract in Arabic' (Encyclopaedia Judaica). Cf. ISTC.
The text on g3v-h1v includes the Athanasian creed and an exposition of various texts connected with Christ's agony in the garden and the denial of Peter; the rest of the book consists of short summaries of the Psalms and various canticles, all by Salvini.
With Initial spaces, guide letters; without foliation, catchwords.
Initial spaces filled.
