    Volume 1 of a general history extending to 1524; this volume covers pre-Islamic prophets and sages, pre-Islamic kings of Persia and Arabia, Muḥammad, and the first four Caliphs.
    Notes
    • Ms. codex.
    • Title from leaf 7, lines 16-17.
    • Physical description: 25 lines per page; written in small, elegant nastaʻliq in black on tan glazed, laid Arabic paper. Rubrication and catchwords. Foliated in Arabic script, with errors. Lacuna after leaf 63. Leaves 272-274, 292-294, 311-315 are replacements. Extensive damp staining and mild insect damage. Part of leaf 1 torn away, resulting in some loss of text, and mended. Brown stain on leaves 1-6.
    • Decoration: Illuminated ʻunwān in gold and color on leaf 1b, in good condition. Text framed in blue, red, and gold.
    • Origin: According to Moghadam, likely 18th century.
    • Incipit: ربنا اتنا من لدنك رحمة وهي لنا من امرنا رشدا لطايف اخبار لالي نثار انبيا عالي مقدار

    Full maroon leather; gold-stamped central mandorla, pendants and corner pieces and gold-painted fillets.
