• Collation: Paper ; fol. ii + (ii) + 293 + ii (vol.1) fol. i + (ii) + 256 + iii (vol. 2) ; catchwords ; continuous foliation in ink using Hindu-Arabic numerals ; modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals.
• Layout: 29 lines per page ; leaves 1b-2a of volume 1 frame-ruled in red and gold; remainder of MS frame-ruled in double red lines.
• Description: Written in miniscule script in black on tan glazed, laid Arabic paper ; rubricated ; MS in fair condition, extensive staining; some smudging and paper repairs.
• Incipit: الحمد لله الذي نزل الفرقان على عبده ليكون للعالمين نذيرا ... و بعد فان اعظم العلوم مقدارا وارفعها شرفا ومنارا علم التفسير الذي هو رئيس العلوم الدينية وبرأسها ومبنى قواعد الشرع واساسها

Binding note

Type II (with flap) binding in maroon leather. Blind-stamped central mandorla with pendants, cornerpieces, and fillets. Marbled paper pastedowns. Volume 2 is missing flap.
