Summary note
An epitome of general history, from the beginning of creation to 875 H. In the introduction to the British Museum catalogue entry, the end date is stated to be 985 H, but in the list contents it is given as 875 H.

Physical description: 26 lines per page; written in nastaʻliq in black on tan glazed, laid Arabic paper. Text framed in blue, red, and gold. Rubrication and catchwords. Paginated in Western script. Insert of lined paper bearing corresponding entry from the British Museum catalogue. Some staining and smudging; repairs to leaves at beginning and end of ms., particularly to fol. 1-2. Flyleaf detached.
Decoration: Small illuminated ʻunwān in gold and color on fol. 1b; title in white set within central lozenge. Text on fol. 1b-2a set within cloud bands on gold ground, which is decorated with colored dots. Both pages are somewhat smudged, with extensive repairs around the margins.
Origin: 25 Ramaḍān 979 H [10 February 1572], by Munawwar ibn Muẓaffar Isfarāyinī (fol. 304a = p. 607).

Binding note
Full brown leather with blind-stamped central mandorla; spine and edges repaired. Black leather doublures with gold-stamped central mandorla and pendants; most of gold has worn away.

On fol. 1a, several owner's stamps and a note dated 1288 H [1871 or 2]. On fol. 1b, the name "J. Farquar" [?] in Western script. On fol. 304b (= p. 608), note dated 1287 H [1870 or 71].
