Title from text on fol. 2a.
Physical description: 25 lines per page; written in naskh in black on glazed, laid Arabic paper. Text framed in blue and gold. Rubrication and catchwords; Arabic quotations vocalized and overlined in red. Extensive staining, mainly marginal; numerous paper repairs, particularly to fol. 1-8, 314-327, but text largely unaffected. Fol. 1, 327 are heavily damaged and have been mounted onto newer paper.
Decoration: Illuminated ʻunwān on fol. 1b in gold and color. On fol. 1b-2a, margins illuminated with gold floral pattern and text set within clouds on gold ground. Illuminations are smudged and damaged.
Origin: 3 Dhū al-Ḥijjah 1086 H [18 February 1676], Muḥammad Muʼmin ibn Ḥaydar Muḥammad al-Mashhadī (fol. 327a). On the same page is a note, partially cut off, which states that the draft was completed on ... Jumādá II 10-3 H.
