Summary note
  • Mimong (Sweet dream): A feature film about a housewife who wants to live a free life as a modern woman. After being thrown out of the house by her husband who suspects her infidelity, she enjoys her free life with a lover who was found to be a thief. Her audacity pays the price by hitting her neglected daughter in a car accident and she takes her own life out of guilt.
  • Kungyong yŏlch'a (Military train): A feature film about a young man who betrays the nation by giving confidential information about troop movements on the military train to Chinese spies in order to free his lover and sister of his friend (who is a military train driver) from the debt owed to the geisha house for her training.
  • Ŏhwa (Fisherman's fire): A feature film about a girl in a fishing village who is tricked by a wealthy man's son for her father's debt and goes through an ordeal working as a bar girl in Seoul against her wishes. However, she finally returns to her hometown and starts a new life with a nice man.
  • "This is the second series after the 'Unearthed Past : Japanese Colonial Period Play Film 1940s' which was released and received favorable comments from domestic and international film researchers. It contains films that show the sentiments and landscapes of Korea in the mid or late 1930s including the 'Sweet Dream' unearthed in 2005, 'Military Train' discovered in 2004, and 'Fisherman's Fire'."--Korean Film Archive's website.
