  • Signed: J M Legeay Sepr / 96 in lower right hand corner of the bottom sheet. The quality of the drawings suggests that Legeay was a young person.
  • The wordless story of a middle-class man walking down the road who is violently murdered by a working-class man leaving a liquor store. The murderer is apprehended in a café by the police, tried, and sentenced to death by the guillotine.
  • The moral: "N'assasinez point et vou n'serez point gigotiné. "
