Summary note

A biography of prominent Shiʻites from the rise of Islam to the beginning of the Safavid dynasty. Missing ending leaves from the middle of the twelfth majlis.

• Physical description: 25 lines per page; written in naskh in black on tan glazed, laid Arabic paper. Rubrication and catchwords. Some marginal damp staining; more extensive water damage on last six leaves. Mild insect damage. First two leaves repaired on lower margin. Incomplete at end.
• Incipit: نفحات دلگشاى حمد و رشحات جانفزاى ثنا

Binding note

Full brown leather over pasted boards, with gold-stamped central mandorla and fillets and leather doublures. Edges and spine have been repaired, but much of the leather edging is detached.

Language note

Persian.
