Introduction to the French language in poetic form with a prose introduction; preceded by a Persian poem on fol. 7b-9a.

Ms. erroneously foliated beginning on first flyleaf. Record follows erroneous foliation.
Physical description: 5 lines per page; written in calligraphic shikastah in black on machine-made paper. Rubrication and catchwords. Fol. 2 blank; fol. 3a-3b, 4b-7a, 29b-31a contain text frames, but otherwise blank. Fol. 4a, 31b have pious declarations. Part of the fourth line on fol. 9b is effaced. Light staining and foxing; in excellent condition.
Decoration: Illuminated ʻunwāns marking each poem and the prose introduction, well-executed in gold and color. Section headers in red with gold and blue floral desgins in boxes on either side. Text framed in blue and gold with outer marginal gold border; columns and rows separated by double gold lines.
Origin: Written by the author in 1297 H [1879 or 80] (fol. 29a); likely from Iran.
