    Account book of income and expenditures for the Royal Arsenal; bearing the seal of Nāṣir al-Dīn Shāh and a note in his handwriting, and the seal of his chief minister, Mīrzā Āqā Khān Nūrī.

    • Physical description: Approximately 30 lines per page; written in shikastah in black on machine-made paper. Change of hands on fol. 137b. Light damp staining; first folio repaired on edges. Insert between fol. 25-26. In excellent condition.
    • Origin: Dates noted range from 1265-1270 H [1848-1853].

    Seal of Nāṣir al-Dīn Shāh [r. 1848-1896] on fol. 1b, accompanied by note dated Shawwāl 1271 H [June-July 1855]; while not entirely visible in this ms., the seal reads "al-mulk lillāh taʻālá -- tā kih dast-i Nāṣir al-Dīn Khātim-i Shāhī girift -- ṣīt dād va maʻdalat māh tā māhī girift 1264" (see Karīmʹzādah Tabrīzī, M. ʻA. Muhrʹhā, ṭughrāʹhā va farmānʹhā-yi pādshāhān-i Īrān, London, 2006, p. 285). Oval seal of Mīrzā Āqā Khān Nūrī, chief minister of the Qajar court from 1851-1857, bearing the date 1268 H and the image of a lion and sun, generally on every other page; seal reads "Iʻtimād al-Dawlah Mīrzā Āqā Khān -- Ṣadr-i Aʻẓam dawlat ʻalayhi Īrān" (see Karīmʹzādah Tabrīzī, p. 360). On fol. 137a, the seal is accompanied by a note dated 1271 H [1854 or 5]. On fol. 138b, the seal is accompanied by the date 1274 H [1857 or 8]. On fol. 1a are several tugras and three seals: one of Muḥammad Shafīʻ, one of Muḥammad ʻAbduh, and the third in the shape of a tear-drop. On fol. 116a, 138b, seal and notes of ʻAbd Naṣr Allāh, the former dated Ṣafar 1274 H [September-October 1857].
