On front cover: Label reading "115" in Arabic script.
On spine: Label reading "571" in Arabic script.
Physical description: 23 lines per page, in four columns; written in small nastaʻliq in black on beige glazed, laid Arabic paper. Text, columns, and headings framed in gold, with outer frame of blue and gold enclosing the marginal text. Fol. 27b, 94b, 146b, 197b, 273b have spaces left for ʻunwāns that were not filled in. Headings in red. Marginal text written on a diagonal. First folio somewhat damaged (mostly marginal) and pasted onto a new leaf. Paper repairs to other leaves, mostly toward the beginning and end of text block; text unaffected. Light smudging and damp staining; some pages foxed. In good condition.
Decoration: Illuminated ʻunwān on fol. 1b in gold, blue and red with text framed in the same colors.
Origin: Copy completed in 1060 H. [1650] (fol. 339b).
Binding note
Full black leather with blind-stamped central mandorla, pendants, and corner designs. Leather doublures; doublures and covers have gold-stamped and gold-tooled fillets.
