Dedicated to the princess Badīʻ al-Jamāl (Rieu, II, 469), hence the title, although the dedication appears to be missing from this copy.
Physical description: 25 lines per page; written in nastaʻliq in black on unglazed, laid European paper. Rubrication and catchwords; a few marginal notes. Light staining and smudging. Insert between fol. 128-129, which is a sheet of blue laid paper containing notes and extracts from another ms.
Origin: Copy completed 1 Rabīʻ II 1213 H. [12 September 1798] (fol. 180a).
Binding note
Full teal leather binding; pastedowns and flyleaves are leaves from an Arabic ms. on Islamic law.
