Electronic reproduction of the May Moore Duprez archive May Moore Duprez was a vaudeville and music hall star who achieved success on both sides of the Atlantic. She was most famous for her 'Jolly Dutch Girl' act, a comic blend of songs, dancing and witty repartee. Her archive remains in private hands and is made available to scholars for the first time in this digital edition. The collection comprises: diaries; letters & papers; press cuttings; programmes; posters and playbills; periodicals; photographs; and music books, both manuscript and printed. It provides a unique insight into the life and career of a music hall artiste who remained active from 1883 until 1936, and serves as an excellent case study for anyone wishing to understand how music hall worked, what caused its decline, and how the stars lived.
