Summary note

An encyclopedia of natural science, completed in 871 H. [1466 or 7] (Storey, 358). In ten faṣl, twenty aṣl, four natījah, and a khātimah (fol. 4a-4b). First leaf missing. Text is on fol. 3a-117a; raml diagrams on fol. 1a, 2a, 119b.

• On spine: Label reading "Maʻrifat ḥaqāyiq al-ashyāʾ" in Arabic script.
• Physical description: 17 lines per page; written in nastaʻliq in black on glazed, laid Arabic paper. Fol. 3-17, 24 dyed orange. Rubrication and catchwords. Extensive paper repairs and damp staining; some text affected but still legible. Fol. 1b, 2b, 118a, 119a blank.
• Incipit (as extant): مختلف را پدىد کرد و بحسب امزجه مختلقه انواع مركبات را که کليات آن معادنست و نبات و حىفان بظهور آورد

Binding note

Half leather with maroon paper covers; gold-stamped central mandorla and pendants and blind-stamped fillets. The mandorlas have been painted over with green and the paper covers are lacquered. Marbled paper pastedowns.
