• Ms. erroneously foliated beginning on first flyleaf. Record follows erroneous numbering.
• Physical description: 17 lines per page, in two columns; written in nastaʻliq in black on glazed, laid Arabic paper. Text framed in gold and blue; illuminated ʻunwan on fol. 3b. Some marginal notes. Extensive water damage in margins. Some paper repairs, particularly to fol. 3; missing leaf or leaves after fol. 4, which is detached.
• Origin: Copy completed "ghurrat Ḥamīd al-Thānī 967" = 1 Jumāda II [?] 967 H. [28 February? 1560].
• Incipit: ايها الساقى ادر کأساً و ناولها * که عشق آسان نمود اول ولى افتاد مشکلها

Binding note

Full black leather with flap and gold-stamped central medallion and pendants; flap partially detached. Marbled paper pastedowns; green silk doublures were pasted on top but only the one on the front cover remains.

Provenance

On fol. 3a, two owner's statements: one dated 1033 H. [1623 or 4]; the second by Khalīl Ḥafẓī dated 1186 H. [1772 or 3].
