Error in paging: 3rd group of pages, 57-76 omitted in numbering.
The lives of Wotton, Hooker, and Herbert, and the letters each have special t.p.
Each of the lives, including that of John Donne, is preceded by an engraved portrait (plate). Donne's portrait is signed by Lombart; those of Wotton and Hooker by Dolle, and that of Herbert by White.

Princeton copy 3 RHT copy: Bound in 19th cent. brown goatskin, marbled endpapers, gilt, a.e.g., with stamp on front free endpaper 'Bound by C. Lewis.'

Princeton copy 3 RHT copy is presentation copy to Mr. Danvers with inscription by author, and with ms. correction of "Favours of" to "Favours to" at end of dedication.
Princeton copy 1 ExKi copy 1 is presentation copy to Thomas Barlow with inscription by author.
