Summary note
A treatise on prayer consisting of a muqaddimah, three bāb, and a khātimah. According to Āghā Buzurg (Dharīʻah, 1936, XXI, 355), while the text is attributed to Muḥammad Jaʻfar ibn Muḥammad Taqī al-Majlisī, Muḥammad Taqī al-Majlisī is not known to have had a son by that name. He also states that the text was written for Shāh Sulaymān I (d. 1694). Text is also known as Miftāḥ al-jinān.

  • Physical description: 19 lines per page; written in ruqʻah in black on tan glazed, laid Arabic paper. Rubrication and catchwords; extensive marginal notes. Arabic quotations in naskh and vocalized. Interlinear Persian translation in red accompanies Arabic prayers. First leaf missing; lacuna between fol. 23 and 24. Back endpaper detached and partially torn away. Some dampstaining and extensive paper repairs, mainly marginal.
