Summary note
The ephemera in this collection includes electoral campaign paraphernalia, and printed materials produced by dozens of political parties, urban and rural organizations, social movements, and state and municipal governments. Also available is some gay literature dealing with national and foreign policy issues. Most of the electoral paraphernalia documents originated during the 2006 presidential electoral campaigns of Felipe Calderón, candidate of the Partido de Acción Nacional (PAN), and of Andrés Manuel López Obrados, the candidate of the Partido de la Revolución Democrática (PRD). Other highlights of this collection are the materials relating to the Zapatista uprising in the state of Chiapas, and a small section of items documenting neighborhood activism in "colonias" of Mexico's Federal District.
