A married man is popular with the girls at the textile manufacturing plant where he occasionally teaches music. He and his wife hire one of the factory girls to work for them as a maid. The maid is madly in love with the man and jealous of his wife. Manipulations and madness follow as the two women engage in a deadly power struggle . The stark black-and-white photography, haunting sound effects and Kim's expressionist set designs amplify the lurid plot twists.
Originally produced as a motion picture in 1960.
