• A few marginal notes. Title page has a short fāʼidah citing al-Ḥalīmī on the cutting of cloth. It is stated in the original colophon that the work was composed in 1074/1664.
• Collation: Paper ; fol. 299 + i ; 30 quires, 2-14 are signed ; catchwords ; modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals.
• Layout: 25 lines per page.
• Description: Rubricated ; watermarks (shield with face-in-the-moon, roman-alphabet initials "AG") ; MS in good condition. Rare.
• Origin: According to colophon copy completed Tuesday 16 Jumādá al-Thānī 1276 by Yaḥyá ibn Muḥammad al-Majdalī al-Shāfiʻī (fol. 299a).

Binding note

Contemporaneous? type II (with flap) binding in light brown leather. Blind-stamped mandorla with pendants and blind-tooled edging on covers. Similar decoration on flap. Paper pastedowns brushed with red. Not sewn.
