Summary note
A work stating the conflicting views of philosophers as to the attributes of God. It was composed at the request of the Ottoman Sultan Muḥammad II (855-886/1451-1481). The author follows the same outline of Tahāfut al-falāsifah, the famous work on the same subject by al-Ghazzālī.

  • Origin: Probably from the latter part of the XVth century. Very rare.

Later type II (with flap) binding in dark brown leather. Blind-stamped and -tooled mandorla and blind-tooled decorative edging on covers. Similar decoration on flap. Endbands.
