A fragment of the Qurʼan containing Sūrat al-Fātiḥah (I), Sūrat Yā-Sīn (XXXVI), and Sūrat al-Fatḥ (XLVIII), followed by several prayers and talismans.
Notes
  • Ms. composite codex.
  • Title supplied by cataloger.
  • Sūrah XLVIII: 28 (in part) to the end are added by a later hand and part is in margin. Inscription (fol. (i)a). Latin description of the manscript (fol. (ii)a).
  • Collation: Paper ; fol. ii + 79 ; catchwords ; modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals.
  • Layout: 5-7 lines per page ; fol. 2-31 frame-ruled in gold and black with gold-sprinkling inside the frame.
  • Description: MS in good condition.
  • Decoration: Opening spread framed in gold, red, blue and black (fol. 1b-2a). Headpieces of similar design at beginning of each subsequent sūrah.
  • Origin: Probably from XVIth century.
Binding note
Later type III (without flap) binding in red leather. Marble paper pastedowns.
