Collation: Paper ; fol. i + 317 + iii ; catchwords ; modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals.
Layout: 15 lines per page ; frame-ruled in gold, black and red.
Description: Watermarks ; MS in good condition.
Decoration: Opening spread written on a gold cloud background within an elaborate wide border of gold, blue, green, pink, black and red (fol. 1b-2a). Verses separated by gold circles. Medallions of gold, red and blue in margins to mark divisions. Sūrah headings written in red or white ink on a gold background.
Origin: According to colophon copy completed 1180 by ʻAlī Afandī, known as Saʻdīʹzādah (fol. 317b).

Binding note
Later? type II (with flap) binding in brown leather. Gold-stamped mandorla and cornerpieces and gold-tooled decorative edging on covers. Blind-stamped triangular design and blind-tooled decorative edging on replacement flap. Marbled paper pastedowns and flyleaves. Multi-colored endbands.
