First two folios are elaborately illuminated in gold and color. These first two folios together with several others are on European paper and evidently were supplied in A.H. 1293 [A.D. 1876] when the copy passed into the possession of Ibrāhīm Ḥilmi Pāshā, son of the Khidaywi (Khedive Ismāʻil). The bulk of the Koran, however, is of much earlier date. MS in good condition; mended. Arabic leather binding with flap; gilt stamped on cover and flap; incased in green cloth cover. The whole is in a gilt case.
