Notes
  • Fols. 380; 50.7 x 35.7 cm.; written surface 39 x 25 cm.; 11 lines to page; on glazed Arabic paper; in naskhi and thuluth; with full vowel signs; with illuminations.
  • Medallions in gold and color in margins to mark divisions. First two folios are elaborately illuminated in gold and color. These first two folios together with several others are on European paper and evidently were supplied in A.H. 1293 [A.D. 1876] when the copy passed into the possession of Ibrāhīm Ḥilmi Pāshā, son of the Khidaywi (Khedive Ismāʻil). The bulk of the Koran, however, is of much earlier date. MS in good condition; mended. Arabic leather binding with flap; gilt stamped on cover and flap; incased in green cloth cover. The whole is in a gilt case. MS probably from XVlth century.
