  • On fol. 1b-2a: "Innahu la-Qurʾānun karīm / Fī kitābin maknūn / Lā yamassuhu illā al-muṭahharūn / Tanzīlun min rabbi al-ʻālamīn" (Sūrah 56:77-80).
  • Physical description: 15 lines per page; written in naskh in black on heavy, tan, glazed, laid Arabic paper. Vocalized. Catchwords. Edges painted blue. Damp staining, mainly marginal but more extensive towards end of ms.; some smudging of illuminations. Light insect damage and some paper repairs, particularly to fol. 1-3, 318. In good condition.
  • Decoration: Elaborately illuminated two-page spreads on fol. 1b-2a, 2b-3a in gold and colors. Sūrah headings in blue, gold, and orange. Ruled marginal lines in blue, gold, and green; medallions in margins, some of which mark every quarter ḥizb. Verses separated with gilt circles. On some pages, text set within clouds on gold ground. Gold floral pattern on fol. 1a, 319a-319b.
  • Origin: 26 Rajab 803 H [12 March 1401], by Khalīl (fol. 318b).
